Theatre and Food and a Special Offer!

What a week of wonderful theatrical and food events I just experienced!

Theatre and Food and a Special Offer!

Beginning with this past Monday, when I attended (and was the announcer for) the constantly growing Jimmy Awards (The National High School Musical Theatre Awards), celebrating extraordinary high school talent annually, culminating with performances and awards at the Minskoff Theatre. Now in its eleventh year, the Jimmy’s have provided scholarships, exposure to casting directors and producers, and a once-in-a lifetime experience in New York to hundreds of students across the country.

This year, Best Actor went to Ethan Kelso of Utah and best actress to Ekele Ukegbu of Long Island, New York. Both young performers received standing ovations from the sold-out crowd, as their solo performances were truly outstanding. The Jimmy Awards brings the theatre community together and mentors young performers in a very profound way.

You can hear my interview with Jimmy Awards producer Rachel Reiner on this Saturday morning’s “Bagels and Broadway” radio show on WNYM-AM from 9-10. (Following the broadcast, the show is available on podcast.)

Then I was off to the Summer Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center. If you are interested in food and culture, walking around the enormous center is quite a fantastical journey…not to mention great exercise due to the sheer amount of space you cover! There are items to sample every few feet, people to speak to, and companies to learn about.

Theatre and Food and a Special Offer!

Since I am the host of a food and theatre radio show, this event was obviously right up my alley.  I speak about this marvelous event also on my radio show this Saturday.

Now, a special offer for you, from the  producers of the delicious Broadway show, Waitress.
