How to Decide What will Match Your Clothes

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

You probably have something, or somethings, in your closet that you never wear.

Or you just bought something, or even more somethings, and realize you never seem to know what to wear them with.

There are clothes, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories in your closet and drawers that you never wear.

It could be because they no longer fit or you’re having a hard time parting with the memories associated with them, but maybe, just maybe, it’s because it doesn’t match, or go with anything else you have.

And if it doesn’t match one or more other clothes in your closet, you won’t wear it and you’ve wasted your money.

Unless you have a giant closet, you’ll also be taking up precious closet space for al the stuff you never wear.

This time of year when most women are switching out their cold weather to warm clothes  is the perfect time to take a good long look at those pieces you keep switching out year after year, and see if the problem is that they simply don’t go or match with anything you have and until you do, or you’ll be doing is moving them back and forth year free year.

A good guideline to follow before you bring any clothes or accessories into your closet either from shopping or the bi-annual closet switch, is to check if you have at least three different ways to wear it.

For example: A new jacket or scarf needs to work with at least three different tops.

So next time you buy or look at a scarf or anything else you bought or already own, pick them up and do this quick exercise that I show in the video below.

You’ll discover new combinations or see that it doesn’t match anything you own, and that will save you time, money, and a lot of aggravation.
