Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Winter is the perfect time of the year to settle into a comfy chair with a cozy blanket, a cup of tea, and a good book. We have three recommendations all written by Tomatoes, including a sneak peek of the soon-to-be-released novel written by the Head Tomato.  Hooray!!!

COMING THIS MONTH:  CAN YOU SEE US NOW?

Three best friends rebel against unsolicited AARP cards, hot flashes, bosses, becoming invisible, and the perceptions of what’s old.

“CAN YOU SEE US NOW?” (release date Feb. 2018 from The Three Tomatoes Publishing, available mid-January for pre-order on Amazon) is the debut novel from Cheryl Benton, founder and publisher of The Three Tomatoes. Inspired by her own experiences and those of her successful, accomplished New York City friends, this grownup novel will resonate with any women over the age of 40 who has ever felt invisible and marginalized in our youth obsessed culture.

Suzy, Trish, and Madge, best friends since their early twenties, seemed to have it all. Beautiful, smart, and successful, they’d made it to the top in the most demanding city of them all, New York. Then they turned 50 and found that the world which once was their oyster started closing up faster than a New York minute. Bartenders ignore them, bosses marginalize them, and they’ve aged out of the prized 25-49 year-old demographic that marketers woo. They had suddenly become invisible.  Stay tuned for pre-order info.

Sass, Smarts, and Stilettos – A Celebration of Italian Women!

Gabriella Contestabile has written the most beautiful love story to Italian women who know how to make the ordinary, extraordinary. And she should know, since she is one of those women, and was raised by an extraordinary mother and inspired by many other stylish, smart, sassy Italian women who make the Italian lifestyle, “La Dolce Vita.” Gabriella who was born in Italy, then moved to Canada and then New York, where she has resided for many years, takes the reader on a beautiful journey of the Italian life style, including fashion, beauty, culture, food, and an appreciation of quality in everything. We loved every moment of this delicious book. If you’re not Italian, you will want to be by the end of the book.  Get it now.

Burnt Out? Stressed Out? This book is for you!

Our friend Janet Neal, a reformed “superwoman”, has written the most delightful little book, The Superbwoman, that only takes about an hour to read so even the most stressed out among you can find time to read it. It is jammed packed with invaluable lessons for all of us.  In this cleverly written parable, Bea, a single stressed out working mom, goes on a quest to find out how a media icon, admired by all, “does it all.” So, she seeks out women in our own life who seem to have it all together to get their secrets. Each chapter ends with a lesson learned, and by the end of the book, Janet has gifted each of us excellent advice, like forgiveness, gratitude, and getting rid of the “should”, which will help women of all ages and stages to live our lives more fully –  just add the “BE”.  Release date, Jan. 16, 2018. PRE-order now.
