Style Story: Yes to the Dress Over

Is it a dress? Is it a top? Big yes to both! I love that Fall 26 is all about the dress over trend. Aside from it being totally cute it allows our dresses to become multifunctional garments – form and function.

I’m wearing my print wrap dress, Zara over a pair of wide leg trousers, Zara. Both pieces have a lot of movement but the wrap silhouette allows me to control how much or how little I want depending on how I loose or tight I tie it. You’ll notice that both of my garments have a lot of body coverage – much too much for my small frame. I compensate by exposing as much skin as I possibly can: rolled sleeves, open neckline, and no necklace.

I cannot stress enough the importance of investing in classic silhouettes and only buying what you truly love. When you do, you’ll enjoy discovering fresh new ways to wear your garments for years to come. My look is a perfect example: everything I’m wearing is from past seasons, yet I’ve styled them in a way that makes them feel new and completely current.

I urge you to jump onto the dress over trend and turn your favorite dresses into multifunctional items.

*style-tip: your shirt and wrap dresses can be used as jacket, too! And don’t forget about your kimonos.

Style Story: The “In Between”

The time “in between” seasons is definitely not my favorite but with a little light weight layering we can make this time of year a lot less unfashionable.

The back strappy detailing on my long matte jersey dress, Anni Kuan, gets some extra looks layered over a bright white crewneck t-shirt, Haynes. The white under the black makes the entire dress pop! My look still feels like Summer but the layering gives it more of a transitional vibe.

Rather than a pair of flip flops I went with a bulky patent leather sandal, Birkenstock and a furry zebra print handbag, Fendi, with a patent leather strap. My head scarf, DKNY, adds some Fall colours into the mix to complete my look.

*style-tip: for the not-so-fashionable times in between –  create the perfect balance by layering your Summer items styled with your weightier accessories

*please treat your wardrobe well. many people work very hard to get it to you.
