4 Women Who Will Inspire Your Morning Routine
Our Long Island reporter Andrea Peponikis says there’s something magical about April mornings on Long Island—the way the light stretches a little longer, the birdsong grows a little louder, and hope seems to arrive with the sunrise. For many women, especially those in their golden years, these early hours are more than a peaceful pause—they’re a sacred ritual, a reset, a chance to step into the day with clarity and intention. She highlights the morning rituals of 4 women. READ ON.

Roving in the Gold
Our roving photographer, Nicole Freezer Rubens, writes:
Go and glow up at the Brooklyn Museum’s Solid Gold exhibition. This thorough tribute to the glorious metal gold, showcases how the element has inspired and impacted all arenas from jewelry to fashion, fine art, furniture, cinema and religion. My favorite perspective conveyed is how it has been constantly utilized in couture clothing. Some shining examples include Christian Dior, Diane Von Furstenberg, Halston, Yves Saint Laurent and even Nike. This show is one of several marking the museum’s 200th anniversary. It concludes with a classic poem by Robert Frost that is mounted by the exit of the show.
Nothing Gold Can Stay
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Like all that is fleeting, this show is on view through July 6th. It’s an enchanted world worth visiting before it disappears. GET TICKETS.

Sargent and Paris at the MET
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is hosting an exhibition titled “Sargent and Paris” from April 21 to August 3, 2025. This exhibition explores the early career of John Singer Sargent, focusing on his transformative decade in Paris. It features around 100 works, including preparatory sketches, daring masterpieces, and the iconic portrait Madame X.
The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Musée d’Orsay, and after its run at The Met, it will move to Paris from September 22, 2025, to January 11, 2026. If you’re interested, you can find more details here.
Now-August 10. Amy Sherald Portraits at the Whitney
The exhibition “Amy Sherald: American Sublime” is currently on view at the Whitney Museum of American Art. This is Sherald’s first major solo exhibition in New York and features nearly 50 paintings spanning her career from 2007 to the present. The show includes iconic works such as her portraits of Michelle Obama and Breonna Taylor, alongside new pieces and early works rarely seen before. Sherald’s use of grayscale for skin tones and vibrant backgrounds creates a striking visual narrative that challenges traditional notions of American identity.
The tomato behind The Three Tomatoes.
Cheryl Benton, aka the “head tomato” is founder and publisher of The Three Tomatoes, a digital lifestyle magazine for “women who aren’t kids”. Having lived and worked for many years in New York City, the land of size zero twenty-somethings, she was truly starting to feel like an invisible woman. She created The Three Tomatoes just for the fun of it as the antidote for invisibility and sent it to 60 friends. Today she has thousands of friends and is chief cheerleader for smart, savvy women who want to live their lives fully at every age and every stage. She is the author of the novel, "Can You See Us Now?" and co-author of a humorous books of quips, "Martini Wisdom." Because she's lived a long time, her full bio won't fit here.
