June is definitely busting out all over in NYC with great events and fun all around our spectacular city.  Here are a few fun picks.



June 1-3. Ice Cream Festival in Bryant Park

This is your excuse to stuff yourself with ice cream and feel good about it.  Scooper Bowl is the nation’s largest all-you-can-eat ice cream festival, a charity fund-raiser for kids with cancer and for cancer research. Scooper Bowl is a three-day ice cream extravaganza in Bryant Park, June 1-3. 100% of ticket sales support the cancer charities. June 4. Lincoln Center – Anti-Bullying Concert

This special concert features Stephen Schwartz, Anne Hampton Calloway and more commemorating Tyler Clementi a young musician who died by suicide shortly after being bullied online by his roommate for being gay. The concert will feature a performance of  Tyler’s Suite – a piece created under the leadership of Grammy Award-Winning Composer Stephen Schwartz. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Tyler Clementi Foundation, an organization which seeks to prevent bullying through inclusion.  Get more details.


June 2-9. NYC Italian Restaurant Week

Mangia! June 5. Taste of Times Square

This Monday night from 5 to 9 PM, enjoy a world of flavors from Times Square’s top restaurants and live performances from a selection of New York City musicians at this very fun outdoor food and music festival. 46th Street between Broadway and 10th Avenue (including historic Restaurant Row). Festival admission is free. Each “taste” ticket is $1 with dishes ranging from 2-6 tickets.  Get more details.


June 12. Feminist Night at the Lower East Side Film Festival

Okay Tomatoes. For films being screened on June 12,  The Lower East Side Film Festival is  releasing Ladies’ Night Feminist Ticket Pricing for $16. The non-feminist ticket price is $8,632, the same amount as the median annual earnings difference, male v. female. Curated by the film festival’s female organizers, Roxy Hunt & Shannon Walker, this specialty shorts night will feature films with prominent female protagonists as well as many films made by female filmmakers.   Get the details.


June 15-16. Kevin Spacey as Clarence Darrow

From House of Cards and American Beauty to Se7en and The Usual Suspects, Kevin Spacey has played some of entertainment’s most iconic characters, including the real-life civil rights and criminal defense lawyer Clarence Darrow. Spacey reprises his role in this new one-man play, which follows the “Lawyer for the Damned” through his internal struggles, an indictment for jury tampering, and his most explosive and controversial cases.
