Farewell Christopher Hopkins
Several years ago, Debbie Zipp, our then LA editor, reached out to Christopher Hopkins, whom she had become a huge fan of when she saw him on Oprah and asked him if we could share his powerful transformation makeover videos. And since that time nearly every week, for ten years, we have posted his extraordinary makeovers. Christopher taught us all to shine our light inward, love ourselves, and then how to be the best outward version of ourselves we could be. In every makeover, you saw a woman he had transformed and empowered.
We were shocked when we read the news that that his heart failed him on the eve of November 22, 2025. He was only 61 years old. His artistry, voice, and vision touched lives across the world, and his legacy will continue to inspire. Our hearts go out to his mother, Joann, who was part of his team as the “Wardrobe Lady”, his sister Michelle, and his husband Robert.
Here is a bit of his bio.
In 1990, at the age of 26, Christopher Hopkins opened Christopher Hopkins Salon at the KSTPtelevision studios in Minneapolis and St. Paul, where he and his team were responsible for the looks of the on-air talent. As a regular guest expert on the popular daytime talk show “Good Company.”

In addition, he produced two vocal albums, “I’ll Be Seeing You,” in 1999, which was nominated for the GLAM Awards in New York City, and “Christopher Hopkins In Concert,” in 2021.
Hopkins authored the book Staging Your Comeback: A Complete Beauty Revival for Women Over 45, which has remained in the top 10 books in its category on Amazon since.
In 2009 Christopher created his internet series entitled “Whadja Do Today?” followed by a new series of makeover videos in June 2010/ Originally entitled “The Makeover Guy Reveals”, the series was renamed to The Power of Pretty® brand makeovers in 2013.
In 2017, Christopher and his husband, Robert Lindquist, left reVamp! to open “MAKEOVERGUY Appearance Studios” on the Mississippi Riverfront in Minneapolis focusing on online content and an exclusive “The Power of Pretty” three-day personal transformation experience.
Here are two beautiful videos that capture the spirit of Christopher, whose legacy will live on through all the lives he changed. Our heart goes out to his family.
This beautiful video with Christopher and his mother originally aired in August 2021.
Christopher was also a wonderful performer…this was his last concert July 4, 2025.
Rest in peace. You will be deeply missed, and not forgotten.
The tomato behind The Three Tomatoes.
Cheryl Benton, aka the “head tomato” is founder and publisher of The Three Tomatoes, a digital lifestyle magazine for “women who aren’t kids”. Having lived and worked for many years in New York City, the land of size zero twenty-somethings, she was truly starting to feel like an invisible woman. She created The Three Tomatoes just for the fun of it as the antidote for invisibility and sent it to 60 friends. Today she has thousands of friends and is chief cheerleader for smart, savvy women who want to live their lives fully at every age and every stage. She is the author of the novel, "Can You See Us Now?" and co-author of a humorous books of quips, "Martini Wisdom." Because she's lived a long time, her full bio won't fit here.
