Coping With Rejection in Dating

Rejection in dating can be devastating, but it doesn’t have to be that way. In this video, I share tips on how to cope with dating rejection.

Watch the video:

Why is rejection in dating so painful?

Rejection in dating can make us feel ostracized, left out, and unlovable. Not true! People reject others for so many reasons. And most of those reasons have nothing to do with you.

What did you learn from rejection?

While it’s not personal, if you keep getting rejected, there might be something to learn about yourself. For example, maybe you’re sharing your flaws and wounds too soon. Maybe you’re sharing your accomplishments vs your heart. Was the timing wrong? Maybe he was traveling a lot or busy with work, and didn’t have time for a relationship. There’s always something to learn about yourself or men when something ends.

Get support.

Talking out your feelings with people who are close to you helps you remind yourself that your worth doesn’t depend on every man falling in love with you! Talking to a coach or therapist helps you gain perspective and see the rejection with compassion.

The positive side of rejection:

Rejection means you’re putting yourself out there! Those who are too afraid of rejection often stop dating. If you’re getting rejected, it means you’re continuing to date to find love. Give yourself time to process the rejection, and get out there again. It’s the best way to stay focused on your path to love.
