SPACE – The final Frontier

SF LIFE: Salsa Festival, Space, BreastFestSF Camerawork showcases four photographic artists who share their interpretations of the concept of space. In the gallery, you will discover mixed-media photography that uses objects, images and layering of gold leaf. In addition, there are large-scale photographic installations of fictitious landscapes, collages of large photographic prints and more. All of the artists reveal a mystery of the universe and challenge the notion of space that we see in the beamed down photos from NASA. Uniquely thought provoking and innovative and so worth a walk through. This exhibit proves once again that San Francisco is host to dynamic and spectacular art of all forms. Now through August 20th. I am sure that all of you tomatoes reading this know a woman diagnosed with some form of breast cancer. I have way too many friends in the situation and am always happy to support any cause that benefits this horrific disease. BreastFest Beer Festival was born out of a daughter watching her mother fight breast cancer. Shocked that complementary alternative medical treatments were not covered under any health care plans, and aware of the benefits of such treatments for her mother, she founded this event.

BreastFest raises money for a non-profit clinic that offers alternative medical treatments for low-income women diagnosed with cancer. The services include acupuncture, massage, Chinese herbs, social services, organic foods and more. All of these treatments are found to enhance immune function and provide relief from chemo’s side affects.

Started in 2000, at the time when breweries were new on the horizon, the event now welcomes 60 breweries, local food providers and musicians. Saturday July 16th at the Marin Center in San Rafael. $55 in advance. Get tickets and more information.
