Long Island Tulip Festival Starts Today

Spring arrives in full color at the Long Island Tulip Festival, returning this April to Waterdrinker Family Farm in Manorville and the North Fork location in Riverhead. With more than 2.5 million tulips planted across two sprawling farms, this annual celebration transforms Long Island into a vibrant Dutch‑inspired wonderland—no passport required.

Opening mid‑April (weather permitting), the festival invites visitors to wander through endless rows of tulips in every imaginable shade, from classic reds and yellows to painterly pinks and sunset oranges. Both farms offer U‑Pick tulips for $1 per stem, making it easy to bring a bit of spring beauty home.

Beyond the blooms, the festival is designed for pure family fun. Guests can bounce on jumbo jump pads, play a round of mini golf, explore the wooden playland, ride tractor pedal cars, and meet friendly barnyard animals including goats, pigs, peacocks, emus, and the farm’s beloved Sulcata tortoises. The popular Little Amsterdam Walk‑Thru adds a charming cultural touch, with Dutch‑inspired displays and photo moments—from giant clogs to vintage tractors.

Weekends bring live music, food trucks, and a festive atmosphere perfect for a spring outing. Both farms are pet‑friendly (leash required), offer free parking, and welcome photographers during operating hours.

With its sweeping fields, playful attractions, and picture‑perfect backdrops, the Long Island Tulip Festival remains one of the region’s most joyful spring traditions—an easy, colorful escape. GET THE DETAILS.

April 23-May 10. Macy’s Herald Square Flower Show 2026

Macy’s iconic Flower Show returns to Herald Square transforming the flagship into Homegrown — a vibrant, multisensory journey through America’s gardens. This year’s theme celebrates the country’s diverse floral landscapes with towering planters, stained‑glass–inspired garden panels, yarn‑wrapped trees, and sculptural installations that turn the main floor into a living greenhouse. Macy’s

Now in its 51st year, the show expands its storytelling with regional botanicals, handcrafted design elements, and immersive floral art that invites visitors to wander, pause, and breathe in spring. A special collaboration with Valentino Beauty brings a chromatic, fragrance‑driven installation to the mezzanine — a reimagined palazzo blooming with color, scent, and couture‑level detail. Macy’s, Inc.

Throughout the run, Macy’s layers in Mother’s Day celebrations, beauty events, live styling demos, and exclusive gifts‑with‑purchase, making the show as experiential as it is visual. Limited‑edition souvenirs arrive in early April, and the store’s famed windows once again become part of the floral spectacle. Macy’s

Free and open to the public, the Flower Show remains one of New York’s most beloved spring traditions — a burst of color, craft, and creativity in the heart of Herald Square.

Roving in Vintage Vinyl

Our roving photographer, Nicole Freezer Rubens writes:

Take a spin over to Generation Records for a nitty gritty selection of punk, heavy metal and rock music. This busy, vintage vinyl store at 210 Thompson Street in the heart of Greenwich Village has been a fixture since it opened in 1992. The fringe is authentic and the staff are truly knowledgeable about so many niche aspects of this music scene.

Thumbing through the stacks of LPs one will most definitely find that one favorite from way back when that she played through all of the scratches. Reuniting with great album cover art is also a fun trip down memory lane.

To browse through Generation’s records, cassette and 8 track tapes and CDs, is to truly browse back several generations. Enjoy the ride in this time machine to before songs could be downloaded and there was nothing better than receiving a mix tape from your crush of the week!
