LA Life Turns 10

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Congratulations LA Life! On January 17th, 2014, the very first Three Tomatoes LA Life Newsletter flew into the new LA subscribers’ inboxes and so began a rewarding 10-year journey. I think I deserve a little pat on the back too so…Congratulations to moi, Debbie Zipp. With this milestone I thought I’d share a few of my thoughts and revisit the very first LA Life newsletter introduction. I sure got a kick out of it.

From the get-go, my job was to bring the vibrancy and diversity of LA to you dear subscribers. To be an artful guide for LA Tomatoes, women who aren’t kids, and to fill a void where other LA guides had fallen short in catering to the Tomato sensibility. It was important to highlight the depth of this beautiful City of Angels with its own unique blend of vibe and style, as well as it’s appreciation for culture and art not to mention the amazing places to visit and the endless activities available to enjoy. I hope I served you well. With all the research that went into each new newsletter, my respect, admiration and love for Los Angeles has grown exponentially. Believe me, after 10 years that is a lot of love and pride residing in my heart for our beloved city. And thanks to the dedicated and extraordinarily talented contributors (Felicia Arlin, Molly Cheek, Laura Foti Cohen, Penny Peyser and Lorraine Devon Wilke) that have joined the team in the last few years, the newsletter’s content has grown in quantity and quality making it better than ever.

Hip Hip Hooray for a decade of stories and discoveries and Happy 10th Anniversary, LA Life! Enjoy the inaugural LA Life intro below and may the journey ahead be equally as exciting and fulfilling as the path behind. Cheers to a city that is, plain and simply…Super Cool! 🍅🎉

January 17 2014 California Here We Are

WELCOME to LA …LA LIFE that is.

January is the month of new beginnings, so The Three Tomatoes is launching the first- ever Three Tomatoes LA Good Life e-newsletter just for LA Tomatoes.  What is an LA Tomato? A fabulous, smart and fun woman “who isn’t a kid” who loves LA. So, let me personally welcome you and introduce myself, Gals.

I’m Debbie Zipp, The Three Tomatoes West Coast Editor and your friendly guide to the best of everything in LA with a Tomato style perspective.  You will hear from me every Friday with the skinny on cool things to do that week.  I’ll be learning, discovering, and finding new ways to Love LA right along with you and it is going to be a fun and interesting ride that we will take together.

“I Love LA”, as the Randy Newman song goes, and I feel it is time to toot our horn! Los Angeles can get a bad rap and be the brunt of jokes but, hey folks, we live in paradise with a unique beauty and vibrancy all its own where there is never a dull moment. If you live here, your heart will swell with pride. And if you don’t live here, you’ll wish you did.
