From the unforgettable “That’s all” scene at Miranda’s desk to posing in the Runway closet, multiple photo opportunities are available for creating fashion forward content. Visitors will also receive personalized styling consultations, a lesson on mastering the ultimate runway walk, and a chance to capture their moment in Runway’s spotlight on video all while surrounded by original costume displays celebrating the legacy and evolution of the beloved film. Roving in the Brooklyn Museum

Sculpting the Senses at the Brooklyn Museum does precisely that, while it amazes and amuses with innovative ways to create beauty. Iris van Herpen is a Dutch fashion designer born in 1984. Her exotic works break the boundaries of science, nature, and art simultaneously and merge these universes. She says, “Stitching together the different disciplines of art, science, fashion, dance, architecture and technology, I want to show that the embodiment of art can create a personal transformation.” Her curiosity and invention manifest in dresses made from innovative experimental materials such as glass, 3D printed plastic, silicon, iron, resin and even marine life. Iris van Herpen has dressed sensational performers including Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Beyoncé and Ariana Grande in magical, mind-boggling garments.

The retrospective will be on view at the Brooklyn Museum through December 6th. Treat yourself to all that is possible and understand that this unique artist lives her quote; “My ultimate collaboration is with nature. The body is an ecosystem — one where couture can become alive, responsive, and deeply connected with the more-than-human.” This exhibition is like nothing I have seen before and reminds us of how vast and beautifully integrated our world can be.

The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music’s Midsummer Nights

This series has turned Lincoln Place into a lively open‑air jazz club, bringing world‑class musicians right into the heart of the neighborhood.
