New Insider’s Club Event:  Private Tour of Printemps NYC

Anne Akers and I toured Printemps NYC earlier this week, a dazzling new retail experience that brings Parisian elegance to the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District. Located at One Wall Street, this is the first U.S. outpost of the iconic French department store, and it’s far more than just a place to shop—it’s a sensory playground designed to surprise and delight. This curated experience will take us through the store’s most captivating spaces—and we end the visit with French pastries in their café, or cocktails in the Red Room. Date will be annnounced shortly. JOIN THE CLUB.

Lights, camera, Lincoln Center! The 63rd New York Film Festival (NYFF)

The festival is in full swing from September 26 to October 13, 2025, bringing a powerhouse lineup of global cinema to the heart of Manhattan. Unlike other major festivals, NYFF is non-competitive—no awards, just a curated celebration of the year’s most compelling films. This year’s festival is a cinematic snapshot of 2025—politically charged, artistically daring, and deeply personal. Whether you’re chasing Oscar contenders or indie gems, NYFF is where film lovers come to feast.

🔥 Highlights from the 2025 Lineup

  • Opening Night: After the Hunt by Luca Guadagnino, starring Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, and Andrew Garfield, tackles campus politics in the #MeToo era.
  • Daniel Day-Lewis Returns: After years of retirement, he stars in Anemone, directed by his son Ronan Day-Lewis.
  • Springsteen Biopic: Deliver Me From Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen, dives into the making of Nebraska.

🎟️ How to Attend

Warning: May cause sudden urges to Zillow-stalk and question your life choices.

Real estate envy is that deliciously torturous feeling when you stumble upon a home so stunning, so absurdly perfect, it makes your own place feel like a broom closet with delusions of grandeur. That’s how we feel, pouring through the photos of interior designer Charlotte Moss’s opulent Upper East Side townhouse at 134 East 71st Street, which is on the market for $14.5 million, offering six floors of Gilded Age grandeur just off Park Avenue. Built in the 19th century by architect F.T. Camp, the Queen Anne–style home features 14 rooms, six wood-burning fireplaces, high ceilings, and a rooftop deck. Moss’s signature style blends antiques and luxurious textures with modern comforts like central HVAC, an elevator, and a wine cellar.

The residence includes a marble-lined vestibule, formal dining room with hand-painted wallpaper, and a landscaped garden with a pergola and fireplace. The parlor floor retains its original layout with elegant moldings and Juliet balconies. The third floor houses a lavish primary suite with double marble bathrooms and a dressing room, while upper levels offer additional bedrooms, a library clad in red fabric, and a sunlit rooftop studio. The lowest level includes a wine cellar, office, and extra storage, making the home feel more like a country estate than a city dwelling. GET ALL THE DETAILS AND PHOTOS AT 6SqFT.

Spotlight on Long Island Women

Andrea Peponakis introduces us to Ester Horowitz. After a 35-year career in healthcare and business development, she found herself craving connection as friends moved away or passed on. Instead of retreating, she launched The Friendship Circle, a private, invite-only community now 1,000+ strong, where Long Island women gather for book clubs, lunches, walks, and heartfelt companionship. Roving in Spain

Nicole Freezer Rubens writes:

Hola from the Basque region of northern Spain! To celebrate 30 years of marriage, my husband and I travelled to many towns, big and small, to discover the culture, cuisine and traditions of a unique people and see the way they live today.

We started in Bilbao, as the Guggenheim Museum has been an item on my bucket list. The area’s architecture fascinates with its mix of Moorish, Gothic and Renaissance structures, to its Modernist and Contemporary designs, emphasized by the iconic Frank Gehry Guggenheim Museum. The opening of this museum in 1997 has boosted tourism tremendously, altering the fate of Bilbao’s economy, affecting the greater Basque Country.

Personally, I loved all of the colors used in Bilbao’s buildings. The diverse styles and personalities one sees on the streets truly reflect the mood of the people and their attempt to keep their autonomy from Spain and France, where they live together but separate, while honoring and preserving their own language, laws, and traditions.
