Lychee Martinis, Taking the Plunge, Keys to the City Earlier this week, we headed to the oh so cool and hip Meatpacking district to Tanuki Tavern in the trendy Hotel Gansevoort, and took the "Plunge" at their rooftop too. We've got the scoop plus the recipe for Tanuki Tavern's peachy lychee martini. A perfect summer drink! And if you always wanted a key to our fair city, head to Times Square. In the mood for romance? Try a champagne sunset Manhattan cruise. In the mood for a bird poop facial? Maybe not, but we've got the scoop on how to win a free facial. Read on.
Patio at Tanuki Tavern | Sushi and Lychee Martinis We were guests this week at a terrific cocktail reception on the outdoor patio of Tanuki Tavern at the Hotel Gansevoort. We pigged out on some great Japanese style appetizers, which featured a few of the restaurants izakaya-themed sharing plates, sushi, and sashimi. Fun place to hang and watch the Meatpacking scene. (Check out Gael Greene's review too). And we loved the peachy lychee martini one of their signature cocktails. It's a perfect summer drink, and thanks to Tanuki, we've posted the recipe at 3T Events.
Rooftop Pool at Hotel Gansevoort | Take the Plunge Well at least take the elevator at Hotel Gansevoort to the rooftop fab bar the Plunge. Great views of the city, including overlooking the scene at the SoHo House rooftop (maybe you'll spot "Samantha"). And the 45' Gansevoort pool is nothing to sneeze at either. If you're looking for a great way to play hooky one day this summer, check out The Renewal Day Package at the Exhale Spa at Gansevoort. The day includes spa treatments, all day access to the rooftop pool and more. Details at 3T Travel.
Win a bird poop facial Our friends at Shizuka Day Spa, are offering a chance to win their famous Nightingale bird poop facial, a $216 value. PTA Mom tried it out last summer and loved it. Check out her review. Get the details on the contest at 3T Travel.
Get Your Keys to the City You don't have to be a superstar, sports hero, or dignitary to get the key to the city, at least through June 27th. A very fun citywide public art project allows every New Yorker and visitor to open spaces in all five boroughs. It's part of a new, interactive art project, by artist Paul Ramirez Jonas who is handing out "Keys to the City" -- along with directions to locations across the metropolis that are ready to be "unlocked" -- at a kiosk in Times Square. More details (and a video too) at 3T Events.
