Spring Resolutions: Have more fun, say bye to the muffin top, and get moving If you blew all those January resolutions, spring's a great time to revaluate. Here's our three step spring tomato motivation program to get your mojo going. Spring resolution # 1: Have more fun. Treat yourself to a fun night out with other great tomatoes and join us May 6 at the historic Downtown Association (a wonderful private club in Wall Street). And since we're rarely only "all about" fun, we'll be helping raise some funds for women crafters in Zimbabwe. But, seriously, you need to buy your tickets in the next day or two, or you'll miss out. Spring resolution #2: Say bye to the muffin top. If you're tired of that puff hanging over your waistband, help is here. Spring resolution #3: Get moving. And we have the fitness guru who will help you do that in spades.
And speaking of mojo, actress Shelly Fabares definitely has it all going on. She was our guest this week on Tomatoes in the Trenches and we had such a great time catching up on what she's up to these days, including her long time involvement with the Alzheimer's Association, the scoop on Elvis and inside those long running TV shows she starred in. Listen in on demand from our home page (left hand side). But first, read on and get your mojo going. Oh, and enter to win tickets to 39 Steps.
A Fun Tomatoes Night Out If you've been thinking about joining us on May 6 for our 3Ts do the 3Ps - Pool, Poker, and Pampering, now's the time to put those thoughts into action and get your tickets. Head downtown to Wall Street to the historic Downtown Association for a great fun night, that will also benefit a great cause - Eco Africa Social Ventures that is helping women crafters in Zimbabwe. $75 includes everything-- manicures, palm reading, skin care advice, wine, food, pool and poker lessions, goody bags, plus great raffle items. Join us and meet other fabulous tomatoes.
Love your midlife muffin top? Regular 3T contributor, Gregory Ann Cox, a midlife life health and fitness coach who is personally tackling "Midlife with a Vengence", writes this week, " I wish I'd invented the term "muffin top" but some other smart woman got there first. A muffin top, as many of us know, can be found when we zip up our favorite pants. Just like the shape of a muffin that overflows its baking compartment, so mushrooms the waist as we age. And it happens overnight doesn't it? And we hate it don't we? So what's to love about this frustrating body betrayal?" In a word, motivation. And Gregory Ann has a whole host of motivating heath reasons why that muffin top needs to go.
She'll kick your butt in gear Fitting in exercise is the biggest challenge (or excuse) most of us tomatoes face when it comes to moving. Well meet fitness expert Becky Wenner who is motivation personified - fierce and focused. Becky's got a great body and a great mind - she graduated in the top 10% of her Hofstra Law School class before opening Becky's Fitness Company, the kind of gal you could hate except she wants to help motivate you too. Her philosophy is twofold: make wise food choices and craft an exercise regimen you can maintain. Read her terrific advice, that will help you get started with a four week fitness plan. And you'll find a special code for one of her free iPod audio workouts that will definitely get you moving.
Here's to fun, good health, and slimmer waistlines.

You know you're a tomato if...you felt the burn with Jane Fonda; helped Suzanne Sommers get rich buying her Thighmaster; and have a Billy Banks Tai Bo video somewhere in your house. *****************
