Actress Shelly Fabares, still America's sweetheart ; plus NYC Gifts
You're definitely a fully ripened tomato if you remember when America's sweetheart was Shelly Fabares on the Donna Reed Show.  But even less ripened tomatoes know Shelly from her 8 seasons on one of TV's top sitcoms, Coach.  Don't miss our interview with her this week on our weekly internet radio show, Tomatoes in the Trenches.  Details below. And of course it's shopping Tuesday.  Mother's Day is just around the corner, and while we fall into the "honestly I don't want a thing category", but  "if you really must" then we've got some great gift ideas for tomatoes who love New York City.  And not a single item has an "I (heart) NY" logo on it everywhere.  Plus we've got this week's steals and deals too.  And you could win theater tickets to 39 Steps too. Here's how to enter.

shellyMeet Shelly Fabares - Actress, Activist, Super Tomato
We watched Shelly Fabares on The Donna Reed Show when she was America's undisputed sweetheart  playing the ever-wholesome daughter Mary Stone. We sang along to "Johnny Angel" her #1 billboard song. We envied her as Elvis Presley's leading lady in three movies. In recent years she captivated us again in her role has the strong willed woman who played Craig T. Nelson's mate on Coach for 8 seasons, a role for which she received 2 Emmy Nominations. For the past 25 years she has been married to actor, activist Mike Farrell (M*A*S*H).  After being diagnosed with severe auto-immune hepatitis, she underwent a liver transplant in 2000. These days she has pink spiky hair and has avoided the Hollywood pressures to keep her face eternally young, which in our book is just one of the many reasons why she's still America's sweetheart.  Don't miss our interview with this fabulous tomato on Wed. at 1PM EST live on Tomatoes in the Trenches.  (Or on demand at your leisure.)
