Don't miss out on Tomatoes Night Out; and other fun stuff to do

gabWhat's in your future? Hopefully it's our May 6 event.  But if you don't get your tickets soon, you're going to miss out on a very fun evening of Pool, Poker, and Pampering -- which includes palm reading, manicures, skin care advice, terrific goody bags, and other surprises too -- at a wonderful private club downtown.

You'll get yummy food, unlimited wine from Banfi's award winning super Tuscans, pool and poker lessons, and great raffle prizes like theater tickets, exercise classes, beauty enhancement products, and other terrific items. The raffle will help support a great non-profit that's helping women in Zimbabwe.  And the very best part? You'll get to meet other fabulous tomatoes. Tickets are $75 and include everything - food, unlimited wine, manicures, palm reading, skin care advice, goody bags and pool and poker lessons too!  The best bargin in town. We hope to see you there.

Now, here are some other fun things that are happening in our neck of the woods, like great cabaret, and  a visit to New York's first "legal" whiskey distillery since prohibition.

distilleryTuthilltown Spirits - a fun day trip
We've all jumped on that local foods bandwagon, so why not local whiskey and vodka too? Well tomatoes, here's a very fun day trip out of the city to Gardiner, NY  in the Hudson Valley (about 2 hours from midtown) to historic Tuthilltown Gristmill, the home of Tuthilltown Spirits, New York's first legal whisky distillery since prohibition. Back in the day, more than a 1,000 farm distillers produced alcohol from New York grains and fruits. Tuthilltown distillers are bringing back traditional batch-distilled spirits, combining tradition and novelty. Get a tour and tastings and a fun outing.  Details at 3T Events.

gabThe Best in Cabaret, plus discounts too
Our cabaret expert, Sandi Durell, producer, writer, and reviewer has the scoop this week on all the cabaret doings around town, including the 2010 MAC Awards, honoring achievements in Cabaret, Comedy and Jazz with over two dozen categories, at B.B.Kings on Tuesday  May 4th, 7 pm.  It's an evening of on-going performance featuring the best in Cabaret entertainment. And the legendary Julie Wilson makes a triumphant return in a new intelligent, humorous and soulful show on May 5-14 at the Metropolitan room. Check out Sandi's Cabaret Conextion for highlights on the cabaret shows in town.

And  through our partner Goldstar, you can get half priced tickets for many performances at the Metropolitan Room.

gabMay 16 - Come Walk with Us
We're walking 3 miles from the Staten Island Ferry Terminal to High Line (a fun walk) to support ending violence against women. Join us, and if you can, make a small donation to the United Nations Trust Fund.
