Join the 3Ts for Pool, Poker, and Pampering; plus a guide to the best ladies rooms in the city; and a rescue dog named Kismet
Okay tomatoes, we made it through that hideous winter. The temperatures were down, the economy was down, we were down, but now it's time to get down -- for some good old fashioned fun, tomato style. We have the best event ever coming up on May 6,"The 3Ts do The 3Ps",an evening of pool, poker and pampering, in the bastion of the old boys club -- Wall Street. Read on for details, but sign up fast, because this event will sell out faster than the stock market can go down.
And if you missed Tomatoes in the Trenches this week, we were gabbing about everything from the woman who sent her adopted son back to Russia, and Ryan Air announcing they will now charge you to use the bathroom in flight. Listen in on demand from our homepage. And speaking of bathrooms and "Ps", we've got the guide to the best public ladies rooms in NYC, a must read for discriminating tomatoes. And we love Rev. Laurie Sue, whose life lessons are never preachy, but always inspiring, and based on her own personal journey.Today's is no exception when she talks about her asthma and a rescue dog named Kismet. Read on.
Get your pool game on and your poker face straight We are heading downtown to Wall Street, the bastion of the old boys club, to The Downtown Association, the fifth oldest social club in New York, whose members have counted U.S. presidents, titans of industry, Wall Street tycoons -- and now tomatoes too! And thanks to one of our tomatoes with juice (and a membership), this members only club is not only opening its doors to tomatoes, but its game room too. So here's your chance to play with the big tomatoes, and improve your pool game, enhance your poker skills, get a manicure, makeup advice, your palm read, enjoy the company of other fun tomatoes, and of course enjoy some great food and wine too. We'll have goody bags, raffle items and more surprises to come. Tickets are $75 and they will be selling out faster than the stock market can go down. Get your game on and join us!
The 3T Seal of Approval Guide to NYC Public Bathrooms Not long ago, we were having lunch at Asia de Cuba as the guest of Helene Galek an actor whose day job is in sales for the China Management Grill, and the subject of bathrooms came up. Not exactly your normal lunch conversation, but somehow we got talking about where to go when you've got to go and you're out and about in the city without being grossed out. One of our midtown favorites has long been the bathrooms at the Waldorf (just head up the front steps, and turn right...pristine and lovely.) We agreed that hotels are always a great bet, and since Helene is in the hospitality business she knows the best and volunteered to share her favorites from the theater district (avoid the lines in the theater),uptown, downtown and all around the town. Here's her NYC Guide to Ladies Rooms and Lobbies.
Asthma and a rescue dog named Kismet Rev. Laurie Sue writes this week that on her 50th birthday she got asthma. Turns out one of her triggers was the family dog, Kismet who was rescued in Katrina. Read this terrific story "How Asthma Healed My Heart."
Here's to getting down.

You know you're a tomato if...You're heading to St. Patrick's Cathedral tonight 4/15 (anytime from 6PM to midnight) to hear their fantastic cathedral choir (free). And you can make a donation and help them get to a musical festival in Rome in October. If you've never heard the choir perform, you are in for a treat! *****************
