Rocker Chics and Cabaret. Nightlife for grownups.

We're talking nightlife today, tomato style. And when you live in the city of "Let me entertain you" the endless options can be a bit daunting. And let's face it. Most of us tomatoes are probably not spending our Saturday night's standing outside the red velvet rope hoping to get picked for the privilege of entering some hot club to listen to loud DJ music. Been there, done that. We're ready for grown up nightlife, like cabaret and classic rock and home by midnight.

You're going to love our new cabaret reviewer, Sandi Durell, in Cabaret Conexion, a new bi-monthly addition to the 3Ts. And we've got the scoop on our favorite rocker chics band, Antigone Rising. You can catch them tonight at the Bitter End. And we've got our usual highlight of events and goings on in and around the city, handpicked just for you, like comic Leighann Lord who will be performing on Long Island tonight, and the Grateful Dead
"now playing" at the New York Historical Society. And speaking of nightlife, we've got a special offer just for tomatoes, from Asia de Cuba.  Mellow out and rock on.

gabCabaret is alive and well
And definitely living in New York at the Algonquin, the Carlisle, Feinstein's and in nooks and crannies all around the city. And Sandi Durell, producer, writer, and reviewer has the scoop. Her lengthy career includes producing the award nominated series Timeless Divas! with celebrity hosts Tovah Feldshuh, Phyllis Newman, Leslie Uggams, Karen Mason, Karen Akers, Tony Randall, Ben Vereen. Segueing into an on-going revue, it currently features the best of Broadway in song and talent and known as Broadway Live! She conceived, developed and produces numerous Cabaret, Songwriter and Master Class events that have included artists Andrea Marcovicci, Julie Wilson, Sally Mayes, Don Pippin and others. This week she's got the scoop on Gershwin at the Algonquin, Linda Ederat Feinstein's, Leslie Uggamsat the Carlise, and Allan Harris at the Metropolitan Room. Great performers, classic venues. Get the scoop at Cabaret Conexion, a new feature at the 3Ts.

Get your Rocker Chic On
gabWe are huge fans of Antigone Rising, an all-female New York City based rock band. Their music is influenced by classic rock from the '70s like The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, mixed with pop overtones and at times folk and country elements. Great sound. Founded by sisters Cathy & Kristen Henderson, Antigone Rising was catapulted into the spotlight in 2005 with their debut release - "From the Ground Up." Known for their driving and vivacious live show, Antigone Rising has toured with The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, The Allman Brothers Band, The Dave Matthews Band, and  Joan Jett & The Blackhearts among others. You can catch them tonight at the Bitter End. Details at 3T Events, where we've also posted a link to their new single "Breaking Me". Check it out and you'll become fans too!
