Hair Loss, Food Myths, Help for Tomatoes We survived our eight hour road trip last week in the third seat of an SUV, with three kids ages 6 and under as back seat traveling companions. Whoever decided to put DVD players into cars is our hero. It's amazing how many times kids can watch Shrek. But then again, it always amazes us how tomato husbands can watch the same episode of Law & Order multiple times. But enough about us, here's what's going on this week. We've got expert advice on hair loss, weight loss, and another installment of the Granny Diaries that will make you smile at whatever life throws you.
And don't forget to vote in our Celebrity Hot Tomato Dad Poll. Right now Hugh Jackman is leading, but PTA Dad (aka BagDad) is in a second place tie with Clint Eastwood. Did someone say hanging chads?
Hair Loss is Devastating Our guest expert, Elyse Josephs, who is board certified in acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine, writes that hair loss "Can be one of the most demoralizing and upsetting experiences for a woman to experience ...What makes this all the more frustrating and depressing is that the Western biomedical community does not have the answers that satisfy the majority of women with this problem." In the first of a two part-series, Elyse will discuss the causes of hair loss. And next week, she will discuss what you can you do to prevent or correct hair loss, from two perspectives - traditional Chinese medicine and modern day functional endocrinology. Great information for tomatoes. Read more. Food Myths
We're thrilled to introduce our newest expert, Joanna Dolgoff, M.D. A lifelong fitness proponent, Dr. Dolgoff is an expert in weight loss and nutrition and has built her pediatric practice around child and adolescent weight management. But she has lots of great information to impart to grown up tomatoes too, and is frequently sought after by the media for her expertise in weight management. Read part I of her top 20 Food Myths this week. (Part II next week.) Sink eating unfortunately does not burn off calories, and cookies, broken or otherwise, still have calories too.
WE. LOST. RUTH.
In a recent entry of the Granny Diaries, Andrienne Schoenfeld writes after hearing those words, "..AAAAAACCCCKKKKK! How could you lose her-this isn't NORDSTROM? Did you not know she has DEMENTIA? That's her "job" to wander off and YOUR job is to stop her. That's why she's HERE remember?" Live, learn, and laugh at what life throws you as a member of "My Sandwich Generation." Read more. Cheers,
