Beach Reading, Help Our Kids, What's Doing Around Town and Hot Dads
We love summer and catching up on our reading in a lounge chair, book in one hand, martini in the other. We've got our top ten suggestions for entertaining reads this summer. And we've got some suggestions for free and discounted offerings of things happening around town too. Plus, PTA Mom has her ten picks of the hottest Tomato Dads. Vote for your favorite! And we have a special request of all you tomatoes out there. A $10 donation will help our most at-risk kids in NYC and an organization that's near and dear to The Three Tomatoes. So read on. Great Summer Reading
We have just recently discovered author Cathy Lamb and have just finished reading three of her books. She is a wonderful writer and her books feature fabulous strong women and great characters you will love. Here first two novels, Julia's Chocolate, and The Last Time I Was Me are available in paperback. And our favorite, Henry's Sisters will be released in July. It is a must read. We loved, loved, loved it. If you enjoyed Terms of Endearment, Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, and Steel Magnolias, you will love Cathy Lamb's books with her delightful cast of eccentric and fabulous women. Let's hope there are some movies in her future too. Head over to our book club and read all our picks. Help our kids succeed
Partnership with Children is a wonderful non-profit organization that's helping thousands of at-risk NYC kids succeed in school and life. You can help the organization win the American Open challenge and gain a permanent presence on GlobalGiving.com. Your donation of as little as $10 will help implement Walking Path, a story/telling art therapy program developed by Partnership with Children that gives high risk students the chance to examine the personal challenges they face and the confidence to overcome them. Help us raise at least $4,000 by June 30. So please, help our kids right here in NYC and donate $10 today. The kids will benefit and The Three Tomatoes will love you.
