You tomatoes are the best! We admit, we were a little nervous about putting our Mother's Day Confessions out there. So wow, were we relieved by the outpouring of notes from so many of you who wrote to say you laughed out loud and have many of the same "confessions." It's so nice to know we are not alone. So onward, to other confession inducing activities like wine, shopping, and food. And we do hope you'll join us at our event this month, Cocktails and Conversations with Mary and Carol Higgins Clark. Meet other great tomatoes for a very fun night. Speaking of Confessions If you've read Gael Greene's memoir, Insatiable, then you know our confessions are tame by comparison. But then again, we never shared an interlude with Elvis Presley. Well tomatoes, hold onto your hats. Seems a TV pilot is being made from Gael's book, which we think could make Sex and the City seem like a Disney series. But the big question is, who would play Elvis? And can Uma Thurman actually do justice to Gael Greene's bigger than life, life? Follow this evolving story.

This is one of those dishes that makes us think of school lunches. But after reading Arthur Schwartz's recipe and the delightful history of this dish, we may rethink Chicken a la King. According to Arthur, "This actually is just one of a zillion creamed chicken dishes that were listed on restaurant menus in the late 1800s - maybe even earlier - and through the 1960s. At "21" they still make their version, introduced sometime during Prohibition, which they call Chicken Hash." Read on. |
