Cocktail Conversations with Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark - May 28th.  Join us.

A few months back The Three Tomatoes had the good fortune to meet best-selling mystery novelists Mary Higgins Clark and her daughter, Carol Higgins Clark. They are charming, funny, and definitely tomatoes.  And when we launched our "Intimate Conversations Event Series" earlier this year they were at the top of our invite list.  So we are delighted they are joining us for Cocktails and Conversation on May 28th from 6 to 9 PM at Etcetera Etcetera. Join us for a fun evening of lively conversation about their lives, their writing, their latest books, what it's like to collaborate, and more. And you'll get to meet and mingle with other fabulous tomatoes. Read on.

Those Fabulous Higgins Clark Ladies
We hold Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark responsible for many nights of lost sleep. Okay, there's the hormonal thing too, but that's another matter. And those of you who are among their legions of fans know, once you start their novels you just can't put them down.

Mary Higgins ClarkMary Higgins Clark has just published her 25th suspense novel, Take My Heart Away.  Her books are world-wide bestsellers and in the U.S. alone she has sold over 80 million copies. But her own life is the stuff of novels too. The daughter of Irish immigrants, she was born and raised in the Bronx. Her father died when she was eleven and her mother struggled to raise her and her two brothers. On graduating from high school, she went to secretarial school, so she could get a job and help with the family finances. She later married and had five children, and then sadly, was widowed like her mother at an early age. She went to work writing radio scripts and also decided to try her hand at writing books. Her first best-selling suspense novel was written at her kitchen table, where she would write from 5 AM to 7 AM, when she had to get her five children ready for school. Oh, and when her children were grown she went back to school graduating summa cum laude in 1979, with a B.A. in philosophy from Fordham University!

carol higgins clarkAnd proving that the tomato doesn't fall far from the vine, Carol Higgins Clark has just released her latest suspense novel, Cursed, her 12th in the best-selling Regan Reilly mystery series. Carol and her mother have also co-authored four holiday suspense novels too.  In addition to being a writer, Carol is an actress and also recorded several of her mother's books.
