Summer Cocktails, Summer Music, Memorial Day Fun in NYC
A Liqueur Made from Elderflowers
We’ve just discovered St-Germain, a new liqueur made in France from elder flower blossoms.  Supposedly handpicked in the Alps by charming Frenchmen who gently put the flowers in sacks and then hop on their bikes and deliver the blossoms to the people who make this delicious liqueur.  Well that’s their story and they’re sticking to it.  You know those romantic French.  But we are loving the taste of this liqueur which can be served as a dessert wine over ice, or to perk up a martini or a yummy champagne or white wine cocktail.   Here are two of our favorite recipes.  Click here for more cocktail recipes..
St-Germain Signature Cocktail

2 Shots Champagne* or Dry White Wine
1 ½ Shots St-Germain
2 Shots Sparkling Water or Club Soda
Method: Stir ingredients in a tall ice-filled Collins glass, mixing completely. Think of Paris circa 1947. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Variation: Think of Sartre circa 1947. Be the lemon twist.

* Or Sparkling Wine, Prosecco or Cava

The Can Can Martini

2 Shots Vodka or Gin
½ - 1 Shot St-Germain
¼ Shot Dry Vermouth or Dry White Wine
Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with lemon or orange twist. High-kicking, cartwheels and petticoats recommended, but purely optional.
