Are you In the Know about the Lure of Linen?
It’s hot…….you have nothing to wear that is cool……..and I mean that literally and figuratively……..and you need to look your best…..because you are a Tomato with style!
Your problem has just been solved!
Treat yourself to a White (my first preference) Linen Shirt or Shirt Dress. No…. not one that has been in your closet for years. The “In the Know” linen shirt or shirtdress is in a heavier linen so that it is not too sheer. We wouldn’t want anyone to see our bodywear
would we? The look is about feeling cool and looking cool. Wear it with a slim pant or by itself. Belt it if you like but I really like them best when they are just straight and easy. There are several variations in length: shirt length, below the knee or for a more dramatic look (if you can carry the length) wear it mid calf, worn open with a sexy tank underneath and a skinny pant. This can be a great look for a cocktail party. I love linen dressed down with your jeans or dressed up with your Piazza Sempione slim leg pant.
There are several colors that look great in linen: Natural, buff and grey; icey colors in blue, pink or lavender; rich vegetable colors in orange, olive, mushroom and saffron; midnight or indigo blue, pewter or black. Truth be told …WHITE is Divine!
Now yes I know that white is high maintenance but it goes hand in hand with being chic and fabulous Tomatoes!
And please don’t tell me you don’t like linen because it gets wrinkled. You are dating yourself ….no need for that faux pas!
These special linen pieces are not going to be found at the usual suspects but rather at fabulous specialty stores in beach communities or anywhere in Italy. So now you have an excuse to go to the Hampton’s in search of the Lure of Linen! Keep your eyes on the look out for linen shirts and dresses in newer more feminine shapes…..and remember Tomatoes you can never have enough WHITE linen in the summer! We love to lure! rfd
