Yes Tomatoes, I am asking you to leave your province and spend an evening in Soho at the Crosby Street Hotel. You will thank me for this one! It is contemporary yet chic! The interior design has been masterfully executed by Kit Kemp who has also designed five hotels in London. This is her first foray in the United States.
The mood of the hotel is alive with creativity, color, art and beauty. What I love the most is the uniqueness of the art……note the white steel sculpture in the lobby by Jaume Piensa. And the design, texture and color combinations are inspirational and
beautiful. You must visit a room for they are truly fantastic! There are 86 rooms and each has a different interior design. The warehouse style windows in every room are floor to ceiling and the appointments are incredibly well thought out. It may be a romantic getaway for you and your significant other…….an evening that includes a real sleep over! The rooms are very reasonable for New York. Now I didn’t say affordable but for a luxury hotel in NYC I think this is worth it..
Visit The Crosby Street Hotel on a Sunday evening and take advantage of their Movie Night. For $25.00 you can have a cocktail, an appetizer and see a current movie in their
exclusive screening room. They also have a prix fixe menu if you prefer dinner.
And if you just want to have your Green Tea Vodka Martini at the bar….well enjoy it while you order some delicious hors oeuvres. This martini may be just what your Nutritionist would suggest for you! The mix of people has no age or label. The tables and chairs in the bar are fun to sit at too. Take in the atmosphere and enjoy the experience.
Oh and please ask to see the private event spaces downstairs. They are like being in someone’s home (someone’s fabulous home). Have a dinner party, a business meeting or a unique cocktail party. I think Betsy and Don would love it here if they were still around in 2010.
