This fall the trends are really fun with the introduction of thigh high boots and leather jackets. Well, the thigh high boots, most of us have never worn, but a leather jacket –well, many of us might have one tucked away in the back of the closet and will be wondering, can I still wear this look?

As usual, just because the trends says “biker jackets are in”, beware!  That  old baggy oversized one in the back of your closet…probably won’t cut the mustard.
For this seasons tough chic look, you will want to look for a new updated version that will have you looking a little naughty as well a feminine!

Even if you still feel like you could never pull off this look,   (even if it’s with a pink dress underneath), there are tons of options for purchasing leather this season. It’s absolutely everywhere this fall!  Below are some leather jacket ideas that you can embrace this season that will really make a statement – without that statement being “Where’s my motorcyle?”

Try…

Class up your look with a blazer:
This suede jacket from Forzieri is a great alternative to a regular blazer. Wear it as you would to the office, and modernize your suits and skirts! Don’t be tempted to wear your old boxy leather one you already own, this look needs to be tailored and on the short side!

Soften the look with ruffles:
If wearing leather makes you feel too tough, then try adding a feminine detail like ruffles like this great coat is from Saks.
Look for  leather that is on the thin side, super soft and supple to keep it comfortable and girlie.

Get your groove back with a trench:
Look instantly glamorous and sophisticated in a trench coat, like this fantastic, movie-star inspired trench from Forzieri, This would be the perfect addition to those of you who live in warmer climates and don’t need a heavy winter coat or as a transitional piece for fall for the rest of us!

Trim it with a touch of leather:
You can even work leather touches into your everyday wardrobe. This leather jacket from Saks is trimmed in soft tan leather, giving it an edgy look.(of course the skirt should be longer…but you get the idea!) Moreover, just a touch of it, will make your outfit looks more expensive and increase your “hip” factor!

Pop your outfit with color:
Black, tan and brown are very versatile, but color is always so much more fun! Even with motorcycle-ish styling, this leather coat from Forzieri is a great statement piece, and softer than a lot less harsh than a typical black jacket. Make sure to choose a color that you feel you look the best in…this will be an investment that you should have for years to come and so make sure to be picky!

A little fur at the neck with soften this look!:
Fur around the collar or sleeves is another way to add personality to a leather jacket. Also, it’s sure to keep you warmer in the upcoming winter! Check out this one from Forzieri. Once again, see how nice and fitted it is, keeping the look more feminine and sexy.

And for those vegan dressers, there is sure to be a lot of “pleather” or imitation leather and fur jackets. Not only will they be less expensive, but also animal friendly!
