Spring around town.
The days are getting longer and bulbs are popping up their little heads reminding us that spring will arrive – and it’s about time.  There is so much going on in this great city of ours you’re going to need those longer days and nicer weather.

May 20.  Olivoe Pasquale.  We love the Amore Opera house in the East Village that has made opera accessible to everyone.  They will revive their critically acclaimed production of Olivo e Pasquale for one special Gala Performance only. Heralded by Opera News as “an impressive achievement”, you can  buy tickets for just $75 to this delightful, comedic romp and enjoy champagne and dessert too and help keep the opera going.
Tickets can be purchased directly on the Amore Opera website at www.amoreopera.org or by calling 1-888-811-4111.

Be among the first to taste these extraordinary wines, some released at this special event, some offered years before their release! A selection of signature hors d’oeuvres will be served, courtesy of Raphael.

June 12-13. Julie Budd at the Metropolitan Room.  When the young teenager Julie Budd took to the microphone and sang on TV for the first time on the Merv Griffin Show in 1968, she received a standing ovation.  And she’s been receiving ovations in cabarets and concert halls around the world ever since.   Next month you can watch this Brooklyn born gal perform in a very intimate setting at the Metropolitan Room on June 12 and 13.  Get info and tickets.
