Fall brings an onslaught of charitable events and galas, and each autumn, I participate in several close to my heart. If you love food (check!), wine (check!), celebrities (check!), read on!
September is gynecologic cancer awareness month, and the wonderful cancer support group, Share, throws one of the best fundraising parties in New York.
Titled "A Second Helping of Life", this event pairs female celebrities with female chefs to create an evening of delectable food, spirit and wine tastings, as well as fellowship amongst women from
theater, media, publishing and television, and the attendees who look forward to meeting them.
This awesome tasting event features the signature dishes of top New York women chefs, along with silent and live auctions, and takes place at the stunning Pier 60 in Chelsea with gorgeous views of the
Hudson River. The date is September 19th and there are still some tickets available.
It is one of my favorite events, and I hope you'll come out to try dishes from chefs like Alex Guarnaschelli (always on The Food Channel!), Anita Lo of Annisa, Rebecca Charles of Pearl Oyster Bar,
Gina DePalma of Babbo, Patti Jackson from I Trulli and dozens more.
The array of food possibilities is dizzying, not to mention all the celebrity sightings, from Broadway stars to Famous Housewives. Be sure to bring a camera... and an appetite.
With all the great opportunities for feasting and fun, in feminine, Fall fashion (!), it's important to realize that the money raised helps fund the much needed support and advocacy for breast and ovarian cancer
patients that Share provides.
A truly fun and delicious way to help a tremendous organization!
