What a beautiful weekend we just experienced here in New York. A little taste of spring came our way. And with the fresh weather, I took a delightful stroll in Nolita and checked out Linda Derector's charming eyeglass shop. Linda was having her last days there, as sadly, she is closing her store. With my visit, I was able to choose a very cool looking Italian frame. As for Linda, this style maven will surely have great new opportunities in no time!
Great find in Soho
While there, I walked around the neighborhood and saw the most charming places. There is really nothing like the Soho/Nolita area for unique and adorable.
Talking about which, I happened upon the Prince Street Cafe and Catering copmay. A place where you can park yourself after shopping and enjoy a bracing cup of tea or flavorful coffee with some yummy baked goods, a full meal, a breakfast, dessert or even a beer. And morning food lovers alert: They serve breakfast all day! If you come in the morning you get a free cup of coffee till 11 AM with your b-fast.
Open daily 8 am to midnight. Very friendly, accommodating people in a fabulous environment.
Ray Romano Returns to NYC
Now a heads up for all my tomatoes: Coming in May, a very special evening with Ray Romano. Yes, this beloved comedian, Queens born, but now LA based, is coming back home to do a rare appearance in the Big Apple. Ray's performance is for a benefit to raise funds for ovarian cancer research, and Ray is the featured performer.
Titled, A Ray of Hope, this fundraiser is something I am actively involved with as a co-producer, along with creator Linda John.
Hope you can make it to this very special event.
Less sleep, more light
Sunday, we spring ahead. For those who are already sleep deprived, this is not something to look forward to! There goes that hour of sleep we gained back in the Fall. But if you are missing the sunlight, it's on its way. It all balances out somehow...
Till next time....
