Making a Difference
Simple things you can do to make the world a better place
Clean out those cuboards and donate!
As you switch up your closets for the fall season and replace your Tory Burch flip flops with alligator pumps be sure to clean out your cupboards as well!
When organizing your kitchen cabs put together a box of canned goods and look up the nearest food pantry near you. Whether you are Upper East Side or Meat Packing District, in Dumbo or in Hoboken there are HUNDREDS of food pantries looking for donations.
If your cupboards are bare think about stopping at your local food store with a group of Tomatoes and put together a package for a few shelters. Start a relationship and supply canned goods once a month! Also-you can ask members of your book club to bring a few cans to each get together- you'll be surprised the difference you can make! If possible call ahead to the food pantries and see what their needs are.
It takes so little to make such a great difference!

Stephanie Garry
My heart and purpose lies in making the lives of those who are struggling a little easier and more manageable. For decades I’ve given my time and energy to local, national and international organizations that provide assistance to those less fortunate. From assisting at local homeless shelters and soup kitchens, to traveling to New Orleans, the Ukraine, Africa and many points in between, I feel I’m at my best when I’m working for the benefit of others. Though I enjoy making my living as an actor and have appeared in over 1,000 commercials, it is the “giving” in my life that I find most rewarding.
[Stephanie Garry is currently working on a book idea that would help readers assess their own “giving style” and to figure out how they, too, can make the world a better, kinder and more meaningful place…even if they have just a minute a day!]
